Mosaics from the Mind's Eye—
Connecting to Your Creative Power
January 24 - March 21, 2006

Class meets for nine weeks, on Tuesday evenings 6:30 - 9:30 PM
Class size is limited, please sign up soon

I want to introduce students to new ways of thinking about mosaics by tapping into uniquely personal visions, ideas and preconceptions about what it means to be creative. My personal work intersects multicultural spirituality and art so I based this class on “The Mandala” which is a Sanskrit term for the Circle, representing a cosmic diagram of our relation to the infinite.

Each week we will integrate the mosaic-making with a variety of drawing exercises, guided meditations, group dialogue and readings to provide reflections into artistic expression. These tools are used to focus your creative process as you design, choose materials, and set a 24" diameter mosaic piece. Students will receive one-on-one guidance and support in unfolding their creative journey. This class is best suited for intermediate to advanced mosaic students.

Students are free to work with the materials of their choice (tile, glass, stone, mixed media, etc.) Experimentation is encouraged! A recommended Materials List will be emailed upon registration. Mind's Eye Students receive a 10% discount coupon at Mosaic Studio Supply. Coupon will be available with registration confirmation.

What Mind's Eye Students are saying about the class:

"It is such a highlight of my week, and honestly, the challenges to my way of thinking about creativity and how I judge myself have been incredibly helpful."

"I'm loving your class and think it will be great for me and the group. What an awesome class you have organized and taught—It's so cool!"

"I'm enjoying your class. On some of your topics my interest goes back to college years (35 years ago)! There are not many people in my business that are aware of the full and new moon cycles, the anthropological meaning of shapes and symbols, and the soul searching questions meditation and drawing can reveal. Thank you for bringing this to the forefront again."
